Who this is for

For the baker who wants the loaf, not the gear.

Flour & Hearth is a buying guide for a home baker with a job, a normal kitchen, and one or two bakes a week.

Kirk, Stacie, and Jodi write the pages. We read what working bakers complain about, then we open the store page and write down the price, the size, and what the box leaves out.

We have not bought the scale, the scrapers, or the Lodge pot on the first guide. When that changes, the page will say what we used and what went wrong.

The first guide is the whole site for now. A later page will cover feeding a starter, and rice flour if a basket you already own is sticking.
